Jamel Taylor, a dedicated design/build contractor, fell in love with landscaping the moment he discovered the art in 1994. He started as a laborer shoveling rock and soil on an estate for a high profile client. Witnessing dirt transform into a beautiful scenery sparked an interest in Jamel that has turned into a passion and love for landscaping. Quickly he realized that learning and developing in every aspect of landscaping is both rewarding and beneficial to his career. With a burning desire for more knowledge, Jamel proactively attended multiple college courses related to landscaping along with earning as many certifications as possible. His assertiveness afforded him opportunities to be trained and certified in various areas of the Landscape industry. He became completely dedicated to this career and continues to discover news ways to progress. His integrity and honesty shows throughout his work as he always gives more than a hundred percent, because he cares for both his client and the beauty and peace landscaping can create.
He is a Certified Arborist through the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) as well as being certified by the National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP). Both of these organizations are recognized for increasing the professionalism in the landscape industry. He is also certified by the Interlocking Concrete Paving Institute (ICPI), National Concrete Masonry Association (NCMA) and is a Belgard Authorized Contractor and Techo Pro. Along with his numerous certifications, he requires his team to be responsible for additional training aside from the weekly training and team building meetings he organizes. He promotes progress, potential, and positivity with his team through keeping their working environment clean, light, energetic, and fun which furthermore allows for creativity and collaboration.
Over the last 10 years Jamel has focused on creating beautiful and outstanding outdoor spaces as well as providing the ‘Taylormade Experience’ which differentiates Taylormade Landscapes, LLC from other contractors. Through his leadership, his team has blossomed and shown an outstanding record of commitment and service. Jamel is always striving for excellence and is constantly improving and learning something new that can help enhance the overall experience for both the client and the personnel. We take pride in being a leader in technology, systems and processes which give us the ability to create beautiful living spaces for our clients.
In Jamel’s free time he is typically playing pickleball or smoking some delicious brisket or ribs but the most important thing to him is his beautiful wife and 5 kids which keep him grounded and at peace.
